Tattoo Inspections

The Environmental Health Department is responsible for permitting and inspecting tattoo artists in the county. An inspection is conducted twice a year. At inspection hand washing procedures, general hygienic practices, safety practices, and general cleanliness is checked. The tattoo shop is required to sterilize all equipment in a properly functioning autoclave. The autoclave is required to be tested monthly to ensure that it is sterilizing properly.

Any artist that tattoos is required to pay $280 per year and must fill out and submit an application 30 days prior to operation.
