The Wayne County Health Department Nutrition Section provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for eligible Wayne County residents whose health is threatened by chronic, episodic or acute conditions for which nutrition therapy is a critical component of medical management.
Focused Age Groups
The primary focus will be on Pregnant Women, Postpartum Women up to 60 days and Children and Adolescents under 21 years of age. MNT can also be provided for preventable conditions for which nutrition/diet is the primary therapy.
Medicaid Reimbursement
Medicaid Reimbursement is available for MNT when provided by a Registered Dietitian or Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist.
Fees
All non-Medicaid clients will be charged based on a sliding fee scale. MNT services will be coordinated with other programs and physicians.
