Fingerprinting

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office provides non-criminal fingerprinting services to the public using Morpho Live Scan technology.  This “inkless” procedure is an electronic, high-quality process in which fingerprints are rolled across a glass plate and scanned.  Once the digital fingerprints are obtained, they are transmitted to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.  The NCSBI will evaluate the fingerprint submission and electronically transmit the results to the requested agency.

Fingerprint Requirements:

  •  Fee of $15 per person if paid by cash or money order made payable to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.  Fee of $17 if paid by debit or credit card.  Only Visa and Mastercard accepted.
  • Must provide a government issued photo ID such as a driver's license, state issued identification card, military ID or passport
  • Paperwork issued by the business or agency that is requiring fingerprinting.  Make sure that you receive the Electronic Submission form from the agency requesting that you be fingerprinted.  If you do not have these forms, we cannot submit your fingerprints electronically.

Fingerprinting services are provided at the sheriff’s main office located at 207 E. Chestnut Street, Goldsboro, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. excluding holidays.  Appointments are not required.
