On April 10th we celebrated the grand opening of the Northern Wayne Library and the Mobile Library from the Wayne County Public Library! This new library branch is located at 609 S. Wilson St. in Fremont and replaces branches in Pikeville and Fremont. Thank you to the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce for hosting a ribbon cutting and to all the residents and special guests who helped us mark this special event.
Speakers included County Manager Chip Crumpler, Chairman Chris Gurley, Commissioner Barbara Aycock, Library Director Donna Phillips, State Librarian Michelle Underhill, NC Department of Natural & Cultural Resources Secretary D. Reid Wilson, and Library Assistant Director Maegen Wilson.
One message resonated—the Wayne County Public Library is more than just books! If you haven't visited a library branch lately, check one out. There are so many free resources to learn and grow!
