Wayne County, NC – At their meeting on June 16, 2020, the Wayne County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a process in which interested parties can apply to fill the vacant seat on the Board. This vacancy came from the sudden passing of Commissioner A. Joe Gurley, III after serving on the Board since 2014.
All interested applicants will be required to provide a résumé of qualifications and a statement for why they would like to serve in this position. The interview process will consist of 4-6 minutes of questions in front of the Board of Commissioners.
A letter outlining this process was delivered to the Wayne County Republican Party Headquarters and has been attached.
