Wayne County Announces New 911 Center Manager

Wayne County, NC – The County of Wayne is pleased to announce the hiring of Christopher (Chris) Barnes to the position of 911 Center Manager effective immediately. Chris is replacing Daniel Wiggins, following his resignation earlier this year to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical field.

Mr. Barnes began working for Wayne County ten years ago as a 911 Telecommunicator, and was most recently the 911 Database Manager. In his new role, Chris will oversee the 911 Center and its staff, manage the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, and be responsible for training our 911 Telecommunicators.

County Manager Craig Honeycutt said, “We are excited to have Chris on board as our 911 Center Manager. Chris has proven himself throughout his tenure with Wayne County, and we are excited for him stepping up in this new role as we look forward to the completion of our new 911 center.”
