The purpose of the Wayne County Day Reporting Center (DRC) is to provide the court system with a concentrated one point of entry for offenders. The DRC is designed to provide a comprehensive resource center. It offers programs to control and manage offender behavior in a community setting and provide educational opportunities, job training and substance abuse counseling.
Criteria
Each applicant must be 18 years of age, have an approved residence, transportation, charged with a non-violent offense and have no outstanding warrants. Applicants must agree to abide by the conditions of the DRC to include weekly substance abuse testing, attendance to assigned classes and report directly to the DRC.
Program Goals
- Reduce the cost of jail incarceration in Wayne County.
- Reduce drug and alcohol dependency among offenders. Reduce offender recidivism.
- Provide employment and educational programs to help offenders be productive.
