Warrant Squad
The Warrant Squad is responsible for the service of all Warrants and Orders for Arrest assigned to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. These papers are from all 100 counties in North Carolina and sometimes other states. In 2014, the Warrant Squad was assigned over 4300 warrants and orders for arrest and they served over 3300.
The Warrant Squad consists of the following:
1 Lieutenant who oversees 2 shifts
Each shift then consists of:
1 Sergeant
1 Corporal
2 Deputy Sheriff's
In addition to serving their warrants and doing their regular duties, the Warrant Squad and Patrol Shifts back each other up and will assist each other when the call volume is high.
