Food and Nutrition Services provides monthly benefits that help low-income households buy the food they need for good health.

Eligibility for Food and Nutrition Services is based on certain requirements that must be met for each applicant for and recipient of Food and Nutrition Services. They are:
  • Citizenship and Alien Status
  • Cooperation with Quality Control
  • Identity
  • Income
  • Reserve
  • Residency
  • Social Security Numbers
  • Student Status
  • Work Requirements
Amount of Assistance
If the household meets the program’s eligibility requirements, the amount of Food and Nutrition Services the household receives will be based on the number of people in the Food and Nutrition Services unit and on the amount of monthly income left after all deductions are given.
