  1. Blood Lead Toxicity Prevention Program

    The goal of the Blood Lead Program is to provide preventive lead toxicity information to caregivers and the general public to prevent and control lead toxicity in children.

  2. Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program

    The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program is a federally funded program that provides screening services to underserved, uninsured women in Wayne County.

  3. Care Coordination for Children

    Our mission is to work with families to support and empower them in meeting the needs of their children.

  4. Communicable Disease Control

    The Wayne County Health Department’s General Communicable Disease program works closely with community members, clinicians, private organizations and the state communicable disease to control and prevent communicable diseases in our county.

  5. Dental

    The goal of the Wayne County Health Department Dental Clinic is to provide affordable oral health services to Wayne County residents.

  6. Family Planning Program

    The Family Planning Program provides confidential pregnancy prevention to females and eligible males and initial Level I infertility services to females of childbearing age.

  7. Health Check

    Children can qualify for the Health Check program until the age of 21.

  8. Health Education / Health Promotion Division

    The goal of the Health Education/Health Promotion Division of the Wayne County Health Department is to provide health information and to promote positive policy and environmental changes that will encourage local citizens to make healthier lifestyle choices, thereby improving their health and overall sense of well being.

  9. Health Services Team

    The Health Service Team works with child care providers and parents that have children ages 0-5 years of age.

  10. Immunizations

    The Wayne County Health Department Immunization program works to protect the community from vaccine preventable disease by providing immunization services.

  11. Laboratory

    There are several screening clinics at the Wayne County Health Department.

  12. Maternity

    The Wayne County Health Department Maternal Health Program provides prenatal care to eligible women of Wayne county without regard to race, color, national origin or handicap condition.

  13. Medical Nutrition Therapy Program

    The Wayne County Health Department Nutrition Section provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for eligible Wayne County residents whose health is threatened by chronic, episodic or acute conditions for which nutrition therapy is a critical component of medical management.

  14. Orthopedic Clinic

    The Orthopedic Clinic provides services to children birth to 21 years of age with suspected or diagnosed problems of the bones, muscles or joints.

  15. Pharmacy

    The Pharmacy Department provides supportive pharmaceutical services to all programs offered by the Wayne County Health Department.

  16. Pregnancy Care Management

    We offer childbirth and parenting classes as well as helping pregnancy outcomes through education.

  17. Sexually Transmitted Diseases Clinic

    The Wayne County Health Department Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) clinic provides screening, testing, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.

  18. Sickle Cell Screening

    Sickle Cell Disease is an inherited blood disorder which affects the shape of the red blood cells.

  19. Tuberculosis Control Program

    The Wayne County Health Department tuberculosis control program works to identify, treat and prevent the spread of tuberculosis disease in Wayne County.

  20. WIC Eligibility

    WIC is available to pregnant, breast feeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age 5.

  21. Wise Woman

    The Wise Woman Project is a sister program to BCCCP. It provides screening services for weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. Each participant receives follow up education for developing a more heart healthy lifestyle.

  22. Women, Infants, Children Program (WIC)

    The program provides a combination of nutrition education, supplemental foods, breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals for health care.
