  2. Agricultural & Convention Center Committee

    The purpose of this committee is to provide services that promote and improve agriculture, agribusiness and forests; protect consumers and businesses; and conserve farmland and natural resources for the prosperity of all Wayne County citizens.

    The Wayne County Board of Commissioners serve as the Board of Adjustment for Wayne County.

  4. Board of Health

    The Wayne County Board of Health is the policy-making, rule-making and adjudicatory body for the Wayne County Health Department. The Board of Health has the responsibility to protect and promote the public's health. It has the authority to adopt rules necessary for that purpose.

  5. Commissioners' Council for Older Adults

    The Home and Community Care Block Grant is designed to improve the planning and coordination of in-home and community based services provided to North Carolina's older adults. It is also intended to promote the visibility of aging programs at the local level by giving counties increased flexibility with respect to funding aging services available through the block grant.

    This team reviews child fatalities in county and determines system problems and/or recommendations to be sent to state.

    Our purpose is to increase the capability of local governments to guide and promote the growth and development in its nine county planning and development area known as State Planning Region P.

    Our purpose is to advise the Area Agency on Aging staff and the Neuse River Council of Government's general membership, through its Board of Directors, on the development, implementation and administration of an area Plan of Services for Older Persons in Region P.     The goal of the Wayne County Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority is to aid in financing of industrial and manufacturing facilities for purpose of alleviating unemployment or raising below average manufacturing wages.

    This board operates local ABC system. They also hire and fire employees, order its alcoholic beverages from State ABC Board, determine when stores will be open and manages the system.
